My name is Francis Taylor. Although I am not a professional archaeologist, archaeology has been my hobby since I was at school and I am currently an Hon Vice-President of the Council for British Archaeology and a Director of the Wessex Academy for Field Archaeology. I have taken part in excavations at various sites in the UK and also have travelled widely, visiting archaeological sites around the world.

For a number of years I have been giving talks to various organisations, mostly about Ancient Civilisations, but also covering other topics such as travel and wildlife. The talks, which are illustrated via Powerpoint, usually last for about an hour and are suitable for a wide range of audiences including archaeological societies, and U3A groups etc. I live near Salisbury but am happy to travel a "reasonable" distance to give a talk. I can supply my own equipment (laptop, projector & screen) if required. Although most talks are given "live", I am equally happy to make presentations on Zoom.

I do not charge a fee for my lectures but ask only for my expenses and a donation to CBA Wessex (the Wessex regional group of the Council for British Archaeology).

I can be contacted via myhistorytalks@gmail.com
